How quickly do we respond, and the hours do we work?

We are a small business. And because we’re small we’re not always able to answer your chats or emails right away. Our hours are sometimes unconventional – so you may see responses at unusual days of the week or hours of the day! Don’t you worry – just sent us your questions.

Storing your fresh bread - yes - you should freeze it right away!

We strongly encourage our loyal customers to immediately freeze part of their fresh bread orders. Freezing the bread preserves it in the best condition. Take a few pieces of bread out whenever convenient and leave the rest in the freezer.

Try it and trust us. Freezing and defrosting works great for bread.

One “Random FAQ” – Quite a few of you have asked about “corn bread” – corn meal

Yes, our rye breads are all dusted with corn meal on their “bottom” – their base.

 

SHIPPING: Days and speeds

We ship directly from our bakery. Fresher than this you will not find.

We primarily ship on Mondays and Tuesdays. We also ship to the Mid-Atlantic and New England on Wednesdays.

We recommend that shipments to the West Coast be shipped ONLY on Mondays.

We LOVE MONDAYS. You should love Mondays. Get your orders over to us over the weekend as our Monday orders are already queued up and set up in our "to go" system on Sunday nights. 

We ship with UPS Ground, which generally, optimally reaches all corners of the United States (excluding Hawaii and Alaska) within four to five days. "Optimally" - optimistically. 

You will see on our website that there is an option for UPS “3-Day Select”.

“3-Day Select” is an option offered by UPS. What’s important to know is that UPS does NOT count the day of shipment among those three days! This has confused us and many of our customers.

You will also see an option for UPS 2nd Day Air. This is the fastest and it is a guaranteed service. The date of shipment is NOT counted. But, but, your breads will be delivered on that 2nd Day. Anywhere in the USA.

Do we ship internationally? Yes, we do. We have shipped to several islands in the Caribbean.

 

What if you have a problem with our website? Or with ordering?

The reality of business is that making our technology work like the “big boys” costs a lot of money.  

Frankly, we would rather pass those savings along to you.

So, what we sometimes lack in the sophistication of other websites we make up for with our wonderful people. They will answer your chats, emails, texts or phone calls to make sure that you will get your bread.
